Those of you who have been investing with Triodos Bank will be no stranger to Thrive Renewables. We’ve been working with them since 1994 and are delighted to announce their latest share offer. It's due to launch on the Triodos crowdfunding platform on 23 October 2023, so watch this space.
Thrive Renewables is a company on a mission to transform the UK’s electricity system. By funding, building and running renewable energy projects, it aims to reduce the UK's reliance on imported fossil fuels and bring down household bills. Last year, our crowdfunding investors helped them raise £6.8 million, surpassing the £5 million target. This money was used to help Thrive expand its portfolio of renewable energy projects.
This latest offer aims to raise £2 million, as part of a wider £10 million capital raise. It's all part of the company’s ambitious plans to double the amount of renewable energy it’s able to produce over the next five years. The new investment will help Thrive to further its impact, expanding its portfolio of wind and solar projects. It will also help provide the battery storage, hydropower and geothermal capacity needed to support the future energy system.
Thrive also plans to invest in more off-grid renewable energy projects. By building solar and wind power projects on the premises of UK businesses, companies will have direct access to renewable energy.
A first look at the latest share offer
This latest offer is due to be launched on 23 October 2023. We'll email existing users on the Triodos crowdfunding platform with more details shortly.
The minimum investment is £234 or 100 shares. Thrive Renewables aims to provide investors with a return of 5-8% on their investment each year through a combination of dividends and increasing share value. However, as with all investments, the payment of dividends and the target return on equity are not guaranteed. Shares can be sold through a monthly share auction should there be buyers but may take time to sell.
Investments offered on this platform are not readily
realisable, which means that they may be difficult to sell and you may not get
back the full amount invested. Investments are not covered by the Financial
Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and your capital is at risk and returns are
not guaranteed. Repayment of capital and interest or payment of dividends will
be dependent on the success of the organisation's business model and past performance isn’t a
reliable indicator of future performance. You should
always read the offer document in full before deciding whether or not to invest as it
will cover risks specific to an individual investment. You can read more about
the general risks associated with making these types of investments. If
you are unsure if any of these investments are right for you, you should
contact an Independent Financial Adviser.
